Basics of Buddhism
Please explore some the basic concepts of Buddhism by our Student lamas in training.
Change: Friend or foe?
- Join us as Lama Thekchen discusses change during this time of year when many of us are considering how to make positive change. Change is inevitable, and yet we tend to fear and resist it, and therefore become unhappy. Yet if nothing changed – if we did not change – we could not awaken. Rather than “going with the flow” and being at the mercy of the changes coming along the road, can we take a proactive and joyful approach?
Living with the End in Mind
- In the Buddhist tradition, the actual experience of death is very important and one that some practitioners prepare for their entire lives. Most of us are hoping that when our time comes, we will die a peaceful death, but this will be difficult if we do not cultivate and live a peaceful life. Living with the end in mind inspires us to live with greater awareness of our actions, to deal with unfinished business and enter into a more vibrant relationship with ourselves and others. Lama Chonyi explores how to live each moment, each hour, each day with greater awareness and insight. Join Lama Chonyi in this discussion on impermanence.
